Upon logging into FATSI, you are presented with a menu-driven interface that allows you to perform a variety of administrative actions such as changing user passwords, performing server diagnostics, logging into the server as a user, and even rebooting the virtual server itself.
Show Account Settings. Displays the following resource settings for the account:
Virtual disk size: Available and used
RAM Limit
CPU Limit
Show Installed Packages. Displays the packages that have been installed and registered on the Freedom server. Packages not installed by Web.com are displayed in a highlighted color or flash.
Change User Passwords. Presents a list of users on the account and allows the password to be changed without needing to enter the current one. The Freedom server allows the root password to be changed, but the expression product does not. Password requirements are to be consistent with those of other password changing functions.
Log into account. Logs into the Freedom server as the main administrative user, which is UID 1000, and gives a shell, which when exited, returns control back to FATSI (If possible, FATSI should allow logging in as any user, without a password, displaying that list in a menu and allowing a user to be selected).
Show Running Processes. The show running processes option displays all of the processes that the Freedom server is running in an interface that is similar to that of the "top" command, but does not refresh unless it's specifically requested. A process can be highlighted using the arrow keys. The following "hot keys" trigger an action on the currently highlighted process:
K: sends a kill -9 signal
H: sends a kill -HUP signal
Pressing R will refresh the list of processes. Additionally, refresh happens automatically after a kill or hup. Any dialog presented is displayed in the same way "top" displays it, so that all the information is kept on screen.
The reboot option "reboots" the Freedom account by running haltvs script and then the startup script for the account.
Reboot Account. Uses the "haltvs" script or equivalent commands to kill all account processes, umount all the accounts file systems, free its virtual disk device, and then run its startup script. This process effectively "reboots" the Freedom account.
Diagnostics. Presents a submenu of diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and fix problems on a Freedom account. The diagnostic tools include:
DNS: Performs a forward and reverse DNS lookup for the account on our nameservers as well as 3 nameservers outside of our network and displays those results. It also displays domain registration information for the domain when possible.
Disk: Displays current disk usage and space available for the account, and optionally a percentage breakdown of where the space is being used by directory.
Network: Presents a small list of locations inside and outside of our network and allows one to be selected. It then performs 5 small pings and a traceroute from the customer's IP address to that location. It also allows a location to be specified.
Network Services: Displays all of the network services that your account is currently listening for connections on, as well as all current connections to or from your Freedom server, by running the netstat -a command.
Service Verification: Attempts connections to each of the supported network services, including Telnet, SSH, HTTP, FTP, SMTP, popper, IMAP, Samba, MySQL, named, etc., and displays a pass or fail status for each as it progresses. Failed connections are displayed in flashing red.
